Self-Compensating Thermal Expansion & Removable Bundles

Self-Compensating Thermal Expansion: Because the tube bundle is bent in a continuous U-shape, both tube ends are secured to a single tubesheet while the floating U-bend is allowed to move freely inside the shell outer casing. This structural freedom completely eliminates stress differences caused by thermal expansion, protecting critical tube-to-tubesheet joint seals from mechanical fatigue and pressure-cycle leakage.

Fully Removable Tube Bundle: Our U-Tube exchangers are designed with a completely withdrawable tube bundle. This configuration allows the entire bundle to be extracted from the shell, enabling rapid, simple external mechanical cleaning and hydrostatic inspections of the tube-sides, minimizing scheduled shut-down periods.

High-Pressure Process Suitability: By utilizing a single tubesheet layout instead of a fixed, dual-tubesheet alternative, our systems are highly optimized for extreme high-pressure fluid transfers where a floating tubesheet would fail. M.D Heat Exchanger integrates computerized HTRI thermal modelling to calculate precise baffle pitch and fluid velocities, ensuring maximum operational lifetime.

Floating U-Bends

The tube U-bend sits completely unattached inside the shell, protecting the entire assembly from continuous heating and cooling stresses.

Every tube-to-tubesheet joint is fabricated under certified NDT inspection codes, guaranteeing uncompromised structural sealing.
